IUS is currently in search of a High Voltage Estimator to provide accurate and detailed quotations for a wide range of services within our High Voltage Customer Services Section of Tendering & Estimating.

This is an ideal opportunity for the development of an individual wanting to join or progress within electrical engineering.

The post holder's main responsibilities will be to provide accurate desk top quotations for High Voltage Operation, Maintenance and Remedial works within the HVCS sector and will involve evaluating information including annual inspections reports, enquiries, and site-specific information.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to analyse and interpret detailed clients' requests, drawings and/or specifications
  • Develop accurate and timely estimates, produce clear and detailed quotations
  • Provide detailed hand over project files to the Project Management Team to allow for a successful delivery of the project
  • Correspond and negotiate with clients, suppliers, contractors, and colleagues
  • Able to manage situations when workload presents conflicting demands on time availability, demonstrating an ability to effectively prioritise and schedule
  • Can develop and select effective solutions to problems and to manage risk and communicate facts, ideas, and proposals to others in an effective and persuasive manner
  • Identify and develop new customers
  • Identify new suppliers' contractors to improve safety, performance, and profit
  • Identify new supplier's and contractors to improve safety, performance, and profit
  • Assist other sectors within IUS with regard to tendering and estimating as and when required

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Computer Literate
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 Electrical
  • HNC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
In house training and mentoring will be carried out at our Stockton & Wakefield offices
