Key accountabilities:

Create the technical vision and deliver the plan to enable data & AI/ ML platform capability across the Group
Create the technical vision and deliver the plan for enabling real time event notification, mass personalisation, conversational banking and intelligent automation with relevant ML and A.I services
Leverage significant prior experience to deliver a scale approach to the creation and delivery of reusable data products
Create the technical vision and deliver the plan for enabling the creation, consumption and scaling of A.I/ ML services by other platform teams, in a consistent and standardised way
Deliver the roadmap of A.I and ML capabilities delivered by the central platform team, starting with Transaction Classification System, Vertex A.I, Anomaly Detection and Network analytics capabilities
Create the technical vision and deliver the plan for how users across the Group access and consume Data and Analytics from the Cloud Platform and deliver a significant shift in colleague experience for Data and Analytics practitioners
Create the technical vision and deliver the plan for the MLOps capability to enable rapid deployment of ML/A.I and continuous monitoring of outcomes
Role model for the future of AI & ML in financial services, acting as the technical expert for data & analytics opportunities across the Group advocating for the capability
Connect with other engineering leads to ensure data plays a key enablement role in their technical design and integrate into business strategies with constant alignment to drive the enablement of business outcomes
Work in transparent partnership with cloud, security, risk and technology teams to deliver at pace
Implement appropriate risk and control processes for a modern cloud based platform, with understanding of the regulatory environment specific to data, analytics and cloud technologies so that they can challenge the Group's risk appetite to ensure data &analytics capabilities are achieved with mínimal barriers
Builds a committed leadership team for their own strategic business unit, holding overall responsibility for growing the skills and capabilities of an engaged, diverse workforce, by attracting, retaining and developing talent across the platform engineeringteams, focusing on insourcing key capability to significantly impact the permanent to partner ratio for technical skills within the platform
Accountable for leading a diverse team of Engineering leads, that are inspiring and engaging to deliver the extraordinary
Exemplifies a culture of learning, continuous improvement and radical transformation
Develop and maintain relationships of trust with senior executive stakeholders. Identifies priorities, issues and strategic challenges, engaging fully in the discussion and embedding the data & AI/ ML capabilities in strategic discussion

Key Capabilities, knowledge, skills and experience

Exceptional leadership skills and an effective network, with a passion for team development in order to build and hire a high performing team
Significant experience of leading teams using agile techniques development methods & tooling to deliver technology change
Believes in and drives a nonhierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency and trust across the team
Extensive technical engineering experience and knowledge across cloud (GCP preferred) and containerbased platforms to deliver data & analytics capability
Experience leading technology solutions to deliver ML Ops
Are technology agnostic and willing to adapt their approach in pursuit of the best solution
Strong and demonstrable experience of managing cloud platform security and emerging security threats and vulnerabilities
Deep Engineering Experience including Agile, DevOps, Cloud, modern tool chains and other contemporary software delivery practices
Demonstrable experience in the field of developing, embedding and maintaining technical capabilities for an organisation realising commercial value
Extensive experience of running platforms within a DevOps organization
Proven experience building capabilities that deliver on and exceed the user experience expectations of the data & analytics community
Understanding of the regulatory environment specific to data, analytics and cloud technologies
