    Civil Engineer (Field)

    Certain Advantage is hiring for a Civil Engineer in Somerset.

    The Role

    This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Field Civil Engineer to join a dynamic team overseeing construction activities. You will play a key role in ensuring quality standards, monitoring site activities, and coordinating with project teams to maintain compliance with contractual requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee construction works to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
    • Identify and report non-conformance issues and assist in resolution.
    • Communicate effectively with site teams and report on project progress.
    • Contribute surveillance data to support performance indicators.
    • Identify potential quality concerns and implement preventative measures.
    • Ensure temporary measures are in place to maintain safety and quality standards.
    • Support formal decision-making processes for design changes.
    • Review contractor performance against agreed quality control plans.
    • Monitor and ensure accurate Quality Inspection Records before work is covered.

    The Individual

    We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

    • Strong technical expertise in civil construction techniques.
    • Experience working on major infrastructure projects.
    • Knowledge of contract management (NEC ECC, FIDIC).
    • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
    • Experience maintaining detailed site records.
