Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Early Help Educational Support Officer to work in Darlington.

This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £14.44 (PAYE) or £16.89 (umbrella) per hour.

The working hours are Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm.


The role:


To work as part of the Early Help Team providing an innovative approach to supporting families to achieve positive outcomes, with an emphasis on educational attainment and attendance.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To ensure that every child of compulsory school age is a registered pupil and a regular attendee at school or is otherwise receiving suitable fulltime education.
  • Offer advice, assistance and support to parents and pupils and team members on school related issues.
  • To assess family's needs, plan and implement evidence based programmes and interventions to support them. This will include home visits, group work, and delivery of parenting programmes and / or Family Group Conferences.
  • To use the Early Help Assessment Framework where appropriate, involving all other agencies and services that could support an action plan and act as Lead Practitioner for identified families.
  • To maintain a diary, records, statistics and case files both manually and using ICT and make them available for inspection as required.
  • To attend and present reports to case discussions/conference as required.
  • To promote parental engagement in their children and young people's learning.
  • To initiate legal action, as appropriate, to enforce school attendance in conjunction with the local Code of Conduct and the Team Manager.
  • Prepare and present evidence to courts as necessary in pursuit of Section 444 of the Education Act 1996, Section 36 of the children Act 1989 (Education supervision Orders), and Section 437, 438 and 443 of the Education Act 1996, School Attendance Orders.

Qualifications:

N/A.


Experience:
Experience of working in a setting where you provide advice around school attendance matters. Understanding of legislation to school attendance (safeguarding of children, CME and EHE).


Compliance:
Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and references covering the last 2 years.


Travel:
Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.


Hours:37.5 hours p/w.
