    Description

    Role Overview

    The Head of Data Services at Conferma oversees and maintains the company's data platforms, focusing on a combination of private and public cloud-based database instances, storage platforms, and data warehouses. This position plays a crucial role in developing the Data Services function and implementing the wider data strategy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Cloud Migration Strategy: Develop and implement a plan to modernize Conferma's data platforms as the business transitions to a cloud-first model, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
    2. Data Services Team Building: Establish a Data Services team to cater to the needs of Product and Service Delivery functions within the organization, providing efficient delivery of data services and support to internal and external parties.
    3. Data Leadership Group: Foster key relationships with cross-functional data leads throughout the business to form a Data Leadership group, guiding the direction of Conferma's data strategy and aligning it with business objectives.
    4. Process Standardization: Direct teams to standardize processes for efficient delivery of data services, ensuring that internal and external parties receive timely and accurate support.
    5. CI/CD Pipeline Alignment: Continuously align data service strategy with CI/CD pipelines to streamline product improvements, ensuring rapid delivery of new features and capabilities.
    6. Data Platform Optimization: Collaborate with development, reporting, and security leads to ensure data platforms meet product needs and client expectations, driving innovation and improvement in related emerging technologies.
    7. Observability and Performance Monitoring: Guide teams to achieve high observability of data platform reliability and performance, working closely with the Head of Platform to enhance visibility of these metrics across the business.
