As a Social Worker, you are the reason why lives change for the better. You help some of the most vulnerable people gain a brighter future.

There is a strong emphasis on teamwork, as you work as part of a multidisciplinary team at St Mary's in Warringtonwhere you will provide care for people with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), progressive neurological conditions, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)and Deaf Mental Health problems, with a layout that enables you to deliver care within a low stimulus, spacious environment.

You will have previous experience from the statutory or private care sectors as you manage a complex caseload.

As a Social Worker, you report to the Safeguarding Lead, and will be responsible for undertaking safeguarding work, risk assessments, and will contribute to ICR meetings, supporting service users to make viable plans for their future.

You will liaise withhome authorities, family and carers for service users during their admission and throughout the discharging process.

Yourresponsibilities will include:

Working within a multidisciplinary setting and participating in the frequent review of patient care and treatment
Undertaking safeguarding work within the protocols and policies of the site and wider organisation
Completing relevant reports and assessments, including assessment of risk
Facilitating access to welfare rights, aftercare, advocacy services and associated support services as well as liaison with external professionals involved
Collaboration with the service user and their families and carers
Liaising with a host of external agencies to enable them to fulfil their statutory duties, for example, MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, Police and Probation

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

Registered with Social Work England
Experience of complex workload and the ability to champion the social perspective on mental health
Degree in Social Work or equivalent
Good working knowledge of the relevant legislation
