About the team:

The Operations Control and Assurance team are a specialist team, who provide independent assurance across the Operational 1LoD through assurance monitoring, outcomes testing and customer journeys.

The
Senior Operations Control and Assurance Officer reports into the Operational Control & Assurance Manager, Mortgages and can be based in Wolverhampton or Chatham.

Occasional travel to other OSB offices in the UK.

This is a 12 months fixed term contract.

What you will be doing:

This is a specialised role that supports the delivery of the Operations Control and Assurance framework by performing scheduled assurance activities.

You will provide specialist, effective and independent assurance for assigned business functions within the Operational 1LoD and will be responsible for supporting the execution of customer outcomes and control assurance testing in either Mortgage Servicing.

The role is key in ensuring the Operational 1LoD meets business needs and regulatory expectations.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting the day to day execution of customer outcomes testing and independent risk and control assurance testing across area of responsibility (in line with approved assurance plan)
  • Maintaining and developing both the customer outcomes testing and the independent risk and control assurance testing checklists
  • Provide regular feedback to area of responsibility on customer outcomes and risk and control assurance testing including key themes, area of focus and agreeing remediation / action plans where required
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of regulatory expectations and the Bank's Operational Risk and Conduct Risk frameworks
  • Developing and maintaining a positive and collaborative relationship with key stakeholders across the Bank to complete the Ops 1LoD assurance plan
  • Timely identification and clear communication of emerging risks or business threats that could influence the risk profile of Operations 1LoD

In return for your commitment:
We offer a base salary dependent on experience and location of between £34,000 - £40,000 and a competitive benefits package including:

  • Discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to 15%
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Contributory pension (8% employer 5% employee)
This is a 12 month FTC.


Could you be the one?:
We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:
Essential

  • Previous work experience in quality assurance within Banking/ Financial Services in either Collections OR Mortgage Servicing
  • Experience in conducting customer outcomes testing
  • Strong and current knowledge of Conduct and Operational Risk and Control Management and of risk and internal control principles and frameworks such as COSO
  • Excellent knowledge and experience on the FCA's Consumer Outcomes, Fair treatment of Vulnerable Customers and Consumer Duty Regulations
  • Understanding of Vendor Management, Third Party risk management
Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in a 1.5 control model or chief control office
