Description

Team Educate are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to work with students in Special Schools and Alternative Provision across Solihull and Coventry.

We are keen to hear from professionals with either a background in education and teaching, experience with challenging behaviour, or those who have experience of mentoring young people.

We would equally love to hear from you if you are a recent graduate in a related field (Psychology, Education Studies, Sociology) and are looking for a challenging and extremely rewarding new role as a Behaviour Mentor.

The Behaviour Mentor role will involve working closely with young learners in a range of school settings to provide behavioural support, mentoring and coaching.

You may be required to work with specific pupils and support them in their lessons, or you may be working 1-to-1 with pupils who follow alternative provision for behaviour coaching.

The ability to communicate 'on the same level' as the young learners you'll work with and being able to build rapport with young people quickly and easily will be vital in this position.

The successful Behaviour Mentor will:

  • Provide guidance and support to individuals in a mentoring relationship
  • Help pupils set and achieve personal and academic goals
  • Share knowledge and expertise in a specific field or area of interest
  • Assist pupils in developing new skills and overcoming challenges
  • Act as a role model and provide positive reinforcement to pupils
  • Foster a supportive and trusting relationship with a range of pupils

Behaviour Mentors will need:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Active listening skills to understand individual pupils' needs and concerns
  • Empathy and the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with pupils
  • Patience and the ability to provide constructive feedback
  • Registration with the DBS Update Service or willingness to process one with Team Educate

Behaviour Mentors working with Team Educate will benefit from:

  • Support, advice and guidance from experienced teaching professionals
  • A competitive daily pay rate
  • A highly rewarding and fulfilling role, supporting pupils who will really benefit from your support and guidance
  • Building a strong network of education professionals across schools in Birmingham
  • Opportunities to secure longerterm employment if desired

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others by sharing your knowledge, experience, and support.

This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

If you are passionate about helping others succeed and thrive, we would love for you to join Team Educate in their mission to support schools in the area.
