Mechanic

Location:
Wigan

Diagnose and repair all types of vehicle electrical systems and mechanical systems.
Inspect and test vehicle electronic systems and components.
Perform routine repairs on all parts of the shop equipment including air compressors, hydraulic tools, grinders, etc.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required. A high level of mechanical knowledge is required for this position. A valid driver's license is required for this position as well as the ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Must be able to pass an air brake test and a DOT physical exam. A knowledge of engine performance, lubrication, and coolant systems is required for this position. A basic understanding of computerized diagnostic software is required for this position. Basic math skills are required for this position.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for up to 8 hours, sit for 8 hours, bend at the waist, kneel or stand on feet during an 8hour shift. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., sit 8 hours and climb 5 feet in a confined space (1'x1' x0.5'). The ability to move around the shop without difficulty throughout a full workday is necessary for this position. Must be able to move about on all types of ground surfaces including but not limited to dirt, tarmac, concrete, asphalt or carpets. Must be able to work in tight spaces or under adverse conditions (i.e., inclement weather). Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team environment within a small yet busy garage environment (310employees).
