Do you play Video Games - Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite? Do you have expertise in creative media? Perhaps you have an interest in videography, sound editing, graphic design, broadcasting or even event planning? Do you want to enrich the lives of vulnerable young people?We are recruiting for enthusiastic, patient & dedicated Gaming Assistants to join our team. Initially on a zero hour contract, we hope to see you onto a full contract within a few months.
We offer full training & support & even the option to take some of our qualifications, leading you to a path of promotion.
About us
The Role
- To support young people with Special Educational Needs &/or Disabilities (SEND) &/or Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs to progress towards meeting holistic, academic & EHCP goals through positive 1:1 interaction, gamebased activities &/or educational learning_
- To build up a trustworthy, collaborative mentoring relationship with the young people who access our provision
- Creating & recording gaming videos & images for visual showreels
- Editing gameplay & videos for online & internal use
- Support Learners to progress through our inhouse accredited courses
- Have a sound knowledge of Safeguarding, Child protection & how we report concerns (through training courses, Safeguarding polices & practice)
- After each session, accurately record progress on the Monitoring Form so senior staff can generate client reports with ease
- Welcome visitors
- Provide feedback of the session to parents/carers on young person's departure (with the support of a senior if necessary)
- Take a positive, committed view to continued personal & professional development
- Possibility to host & organise tournaments & events
Qualities/skills you'll need:
- Knowledge, experience & expertise in online & offline gaming
- Qualification in creative media an advantage
- Compassion, kindness & patience
- Creativity, enthusiasm & willingness to learn
- Understanding of social media
- YouTube, Insta, Tik-Tok etc
- A sense of humour
