This is an exciting opportunity for a new Consultant in Nephrology based in the North East Region of England.

This is a full time position primarily based at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough which would be focused on contributing to the delivery of the Nephrology service across the Tees Valley.


About the role:

The post is a new position to complement an existing team of 7.9 WTE consultant Nephrologists.

The post holder would be part of the team providing a comprehensive renal service (with the exception of acute renal transplantation) for the population of Teesside, South Durham and parts of North Yorkshire.

There is an expectation of a responsibility for approximately 120 patients on renal replacement treatment and to contribute proportionately to the other aspects of the Nephrology Service including investigation in-patient and out-patient management of chronic kidney disease, management of transplanted patients, managing patients with AKI across the hospital and neighbouring hospitals, and procedures including vascular access and biopsies.
