Operational R & D Laboratory Assistant_ _within Russell IPM Ltd._
Duties and responsibilities:
- All formulation and development work related to R&D Lab.
- Follow methodologies in carrying routine tasks.
- Labelling, sorting, and storing lab samples.
- Carry out experiments and tests, keeping note of any unexpected changes and developments.
- Produce accurate and reliable data and interpret results.
- Compile reports that outline the experiment's outcome for senior staff
- Gather information/data on research relevant topics.
- Disposing of waste and storing lab equipment after use
- Pesticide and biopesticide based formulation and production of products.
- Ensuring that all equipment is thoroughly cleaned so as not to impact any future tests or experiments.
- Fill out all necessary paperwork and make sure records are kept up to date so that other team members have a clear understanding of when the project and individual tasks were completed.
- Ensure that the lab is well stocked at all times and reorder any supplies that are running low in a timely manner.
- Help to produce tablets (In Flint) and blister pack products (Both Deeside and Flint)
- Work closely with supervisors, pheromone lab and operator staff to plan work, set targets and make sure the finished products meet quality standards
- Manage, verify and control the arrival of components and materials necessary for Production.
- Ensure that all manufacturing equipment are validated, calibrated, and maintained according to standard of
Education & Qualifications
- A level or equivalent
Experience
- Work experience is not needed as full training will be provided
- Knowledge on laboratory working environment would be advantageous.
- Knowledge on safety procedures of handling chemicals would be advantageous.
- Excellent communications and organizational skills.
Skills
You'll need to have:
- good hand-eye coordination, to use technical equipment with accuracy.
- the ability to maintain and calibrate technical equipment.
- time management skills to work on several different projects at once.
- flexibility for working with and providing support to a number of people.
- the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organisation
- experience in providing demonstrations and writing technical reports
- teamwork skills and patience attention to detail
- excellent record-keeping skills and basic maths and computing
- follow instructions and procedures accurately in order to carry out tests, so attention to detail is incredibly important.
- computer knowledge and the ability to pick up new software and programs quickly.
Learning & Development Opportunities - To be enrolled minimum 12 months after start date and dependant on performance in role.
- Science related qualification eg. HNC/HND in applied science
- COSHH Awareness
- First aid training
- Pesticide training course
Additional Information:
- Working Hours: Monday
- Friday 8:45am 16:45pm hours per week
- Based across 2 sites
- Deeside Industrial Park and Castle Park Estate, Flint
- Permanent full time role, dependent on the successful completion of a three month probation period.
Salary:
£20,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
