Who we are:

Miles Kelly is an established publisher of highly illustrated books for children, based in Thaxted, Essex.

Our small team prides itself on producing exceptional products that promote a love of reading and books in children aged 2-10 years.

Who we're looking for:

Key duties, responsibilities and skills:

Reporting to the Publishing Director:

Ensuring projects meet their deadlines and that high editorial standards are maintained
Devising and maintaining schedules and budgets
Exceptional editing, writing and proofreading skills
A demonstrable awareness and knowledge of the children's book market
Excellent research and planning skills
The ability to write clear, concise copy and instructions for artwork briefs
Keywording final artwork for reuse purposes
Sourcing and liaising with external authors, artists, designers, art agencies, indexers and consultants
A strong creative flair for prototyping new ideas
The ability to Americanise text and track reprint corrections to our extensive backlist
A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe InDesign
