Based from our Ashby de la Zouch site, we are looking for an experienced
Procurement Specialist / Buyer who can play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth procurement process of materials and supplies.

Your expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of our vehicle conversion processes and our commitment to delivering high quality products to our customers.


Job Purpose


Working with the wider procurement team, will be responsible for the cost and quality of both the product and delivery, organising a timely supply of parts and products for the business, in line with production and operating schedules.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the endtoend procurement process, from sourcing and purchasing to managing live orders, ensuring the timely availability of materials and supplies.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers, leveraging exceptional negotiation skills to secure favourable pricing, terms, and contracts.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities, conduct thorough market research and analysis to ensure competitive pricing, and working with the managers, implement streamlined procurement processes.
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to manage inventory levels effectively.
  • Obtaining quotations in support of bids.
  • Provide information on spend analysis, cost reductions and savings initiatives,
  • Reviewing and reporting on key supplier performance in line with agreed KPI's.
  • Proactively monitor supply chain risks, promptly identifying and mitigating potential disruptions.
  • Expediting to ensure materials are delivered in line with production requirements.
  • Supporting supplier relationships including participation in business reviews.

Personal Profile & Essential Skills:


  • Previous experience within a Procurement / Buyer position, ideally within the engineering / manufacturing industry, showcasing expertise in sourcing and negotiation
  • Experience of working strategically with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver cost saving and added value
  • Gaining supply chain efficiencies
  • Commercially aware
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams in the organization.
  • Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Autonomous
  • Previous experience and a good working knowledge of MRP systems, ideally SAP
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Commercially astute
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Strong communication skills as you will be liaising with internal staff at all levels
  • Negotiation skills
  • Confident, resilient, and able to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Selfmotivated and proactive
  • Full UK driving license as they may be required to attend on site supplier meetings

Hours:


  • 37 hours per week Monday Friday (lunch time finish Friday)_
