  • Transport Services has an excellent reputation for providing the transportation requirements of school children with special needs, older people and adults with disabilities.

Our aims are to:

  • Provide a safe and comfortable journey
Value Equality and Diversity
Treat all passengers with dignity and respect

Make our journeys an enjoyable experience- Carrying up to 16 vulnerable children, some in wheelchairs, in a 5-tonne minibus in a safe and comfortable manner means we are looking for experienced drivers with above average driving skills.- Applicants must be over 21 years of age and have held a full driving licence with D1 entitlement for at least two years; you must also be physically able to assist people with disabilities.

A PCV or HGV licence would be advantageous but not essential, as would an extensive geographical knowledge of Calderdale.- You will be asked to work between the core hours of 6:45am - 10:15am and 2:15pm - 6:00pm but this will vary depending on need.

The service requires people to be available at peak times of operation.

Our staff of minibus drivers and passenger attendants provide an important service to pupils and parents and applicants must be prepared to work as part of a team.- This is a dual role post and the post holder may be required to undertake the duties of Passenger Attendant as needed.

Experience of working with people with special educational needs is desirable although training will be provided for suitable applicants.- The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Applicants to posts that are exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
