Stock Condition Surveyor


You will have a key role in helping us keep our stock condition information accurate and up to date in support of Great Places' corporate plan, asset management strategy and investment programmes.

You will carry out stock condition and HHSRS surveys, undertake desktop and site data quality audits.

Working collaboratively with regional colleagues you will help the Strategic Asset and Investment Manager maintain our stock portfolio data to the highest quality in support of our 30-year business plan.


What you'll need

  • A relevant building surveying qualification to a minimum HNC/HND level.
  • Experience of stock condition or building surveying in the social or private housing sector, using asset management software and handheld devices.
  • Experience of delivering high levels of service to internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressure.
  • Excellent problemsolving and interpersonal skills to deal with all customer and colleague enquiries.
  • Experience of managing minor/major works projects.
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle.

  • Carrying out detailed stock condition surveys to a wide variety of assets, collecting and recording data accurately.
  • Providing technical advice and building surveying support to assist colleagues and teams across the business, including property appraisals, home improvement requests and major aids and adaptations.
  • Supporting the Strategic Asset & Investment Manager in continuously improving the collection and interpretation of our stock information through data cleansing reviews.
  • Supporting the delivery of investment and maintenance programmes through managing small and medium scale improvement projects, including contractor management, pre and post work inspections, oversight of health and safety compliance in line with CDM, and processing of financial claims.
  • Producing property reports, highlighting any issues that would affect the sustainability of the stock, including workmanship, materials, design or building construction.
  • Providing data and reports to support effective decisions on divesting and acquiring housing
  • A commitment to work in partnership with others for the benefit of Great Places
  • A commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Ability to work flexibly and when needed outside normal working hours to ensure service continuity
  • An ability to work in uncertainty.
