We are really excited to be looking for a Deputy Team Leader for Colorectal to work alongside our Team Leader.

You would be responsible for leading and managing the service within the department effectively and to deputise in their absence.

To manage general resources, both personnel and financial, to ensure the effective operation of the department.


Day to day Supervision:


  • Regularly responsible for the professional /clinical supervision of a number of staff or students.
  • Delegating or allocating work and checking for quality and timely completion
  • Refer concerns to line manager e.g. performance, attendance or conduct

Day to day Management:

We have a Practice Development Team who are invested in supporting the development of our team.

This seconded role would give someone the opportunity to develop and grow their leadership skills, with the support of their Team Leader.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides high quality patient care to a population of approximately 600,000 people, including those living in Andover, Basingstoke, Eastleigh and Winchester as well as surrounding towns and villages across Hampshire and parts of west Berkshire.

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and self-motivated staff within the General team to undertake the role of Deputy Team Leader/Sister.

You will be expected to have experience in general surgery and can lead a team, with the support of your team leader and matron, to achieve excellent levels of quality patient care.

Applicants must be able to support the core values of the Trust in promoting putting patients first, having personal responsibility, passion for excellence and take pride with the team.

We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual who will have excellent communication and leadership skills. You will be encouraged and supported to further develop using the educational and experiential learning opportunities available.

You will be supported by your team leader and the education team to develop your skills and knowledge within the role.

This post include BH's and weekend working.
