The role

We are looking for a Chief Solution Architect within Individual Retirement Solutions, a key division of the Phoenix Group; this will be the primary senior technical role on various delivery projects and you will act as CTO for the division, as right hand person to the MD from a Technical perspective.

You will be responsible for the design, documentation and overseeing the construction of the solution to align with architecture - the focus is on the successful implementation of multiple projects, working with various industry experts in Product, Pricing, Annuities, Compliance and Propositions amongst others.

Overall responsibility for the strategy, design and architecture of technology underpinning all of individual retirement solutions products and tools.
Liaison with other relevant Group functions during build and execution phase to ensure coordinated and efficient execution
Lead, facilitate, and deliver Phoenix' strategic technology and operations plans for Individual Retirement (IR) in line with the agreed business strategy for IR. The function will operate with a clear mandate to focus on IR needs and deliver solutions and outcomes to capture market opportunity through use of digital technology and efficient operations.
Work with the IR leadership team to define the IR Change portfolio to support IR's strategic targets and provide execution leadership
Overseeing execution teams whether assembled from within Individual Retirement Solutions or wider project workstreams
Lead or contribute to ideas and solutions to progress the IR strategy
Lead or monitor the progress of inflight Technology projects to ensure target outcomes are being met
Contribute towards increasing the value of Individual Retirement (and Phoenix) for its investors, employees, and customers.

This role overseas and guides the performance of the necessary analysis and design tasks related to the development of solution architectures.

This also includes the production of logical and physical architectures that support the delivery of projects.

What are we looking for?

Significant experience is a technology leadership role as a Chief Solutions Architect or perhaps have acted as CTO in an SME or project
A technology expert to act as right hand person to the MD of IRS.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work quickly and accurately with a high attention to detail.
The ability to deliver in a high pressure environment whilst maintaining accuracy and quality.
Excellent communication skills, including experience of interacting with a wide range of stakeholders.
