We are recruiting a Full-Time HR Manager for a leading Life Sciences business based on the Cambridge Science Park. The role offers hybrid working.

About the role?

The HR Manager reports to the Head of HR, Europe, and will have responsibility for the Cambridge HR function
, including Strategy and Operations.

You will work closely with the Site Head, the Site Leadership Team and a number of key stakeholders to provide first-class generalist HR advice and support.

You will line manage a full-time HR Administrator.
A typical day will include all or some of the following activities

  • Oversee all employee lifecycle activities including recruitment, selection, onboarding and exits, ensuring compliance with current legislation is upheld at all times
  • Manage HR lifecycle events including end of year performance management and compensation review and midyear promotion and progression cycles
  • Set, manage and monitor the HR budget and contribute to workforce planning
  • Support leaders and managers in talent management and succession planning
  • Deliver reward and recognition activities in line with global and European policies, and take part in annual reviews of benefits and insurances
  • Develop employee engagement strategies and deliver engagement initiatives
  • Lead on any local and corporate HR projects and development of local and/or global policies and procedures as required
  • Develop and implement learning and development strategies including skills frameworks, learning journeys and career pathways
  • Support and coach managers in all employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence management in line with Company procedures and employment legislation
  • Partner with the Health & Safety Manager to codevelop and deliver employee wellbeing initiatives, including social, physical and mental health
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant UK HR legislation

About you?

You will have a proven track record as a HR Manager or HR Business Partner who enjoys all aspects of HR, particularly HR operations as well as learning and development / culture and engagement.

Educated to CIPD level 5
Experience of compensation and benefits and overseeing payroll would be an advantage.
Excellent UK employment law knowledge
