The Role
The Head of Marketing will manage a small marketing team as well as relationships with external agencies.

They will work with teams across digital marketing, communications, memberships, sales and training to support the business in achieving its ambitions.


Responsibilities


You will manage the marketing strategic priorities and goals for FosterTalk and Fosterline, ensuring that marketing plans are in place and delivered.

You will also take responsibility for developing and owning senior stakeholder relationships, board level reporting, annual events, PR, brand and budget management.


  • You will manage the brand to ensure consistent communication of the organisation's mission and values across all channels and will ensure that the integrity of the brand is maintained and promoted at all times.
  • You will develop and oversee the delivery of a corporate communications strategy to build the organisation's brand and reputation, including writing and editing effective copy.
  • You will develop a stakeholder engagement strategy to maintain and develop relationships, accounting for and supporting FosterTalk's operations and growth plans.
  • You will identify and effectively utilise a range of channels to deliver successful results including above the line, direct and digital marketing the latter with the support of the Head of Digital.
  • You will monitor and measure the effectiveness of all marketing/communications activity.
  • You will manage a small team, ensuring team performance and supporting your team to develop and grow in line with organisational staff development policy.
  • You will manage internal communications.
  • You will lead, or support the lead of, business development projects as identified by senior management and the FosterTalk Subcommittee.
  • You will manage, and be accountable to the Director of Operations for, a team budget.
  • You will support the Head of Digital as necessary to facilitate the management and adherence to best practice when utilising the organisation's CRM system.
  • Create media opportunities and develop a proactive PR programme that will secure positive media coverage.
  • Plan and deliver an annual calendar of promotional events, including the annual FosterTalk Awards and FosterTalk Live.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with stakeholders. This is both offline through community talks and digitally via connecting and interacting via social media.
  • Monitor and evaluate activities against targets and timescales, producing performance reports for the Director of Operations.
  • Monitor and provide timely feedback on department objectives and stakeholders engagement to the Director of Operations and the FosterTalk Subcommittee.
  • Produce timely reports which detail the activity and outcomes of the marketing strategy to the Director of Operations and the FosterTalk Subcommittee.
  • Work closely with colleagues and partner organisations to ensure coordinated delivery of promotions and sales campaigns related to company objectives.

In addition to memberships, Fostertalk also provide expert Allegations Support and market leading training for Foster Carers and fostering staff.

FosterTalk delivers Fosterline, an independent support service on behalf of the Department for Education. Fosterline is free to access for all foster parents and those thinking of becoming foster parents in England.
