Head of Operations


Reporting to the Managing Director, and working closely with the Sales Director and the Head of Manufacturing and their teams - the Head of Operations will lead the delivery of operational functions that support customer's needs.

Ensuring operational performance meets customers' expectations and supporting the achievement of sales targets.

The Head of Operations will develop, oversee and implement the robust operational processes that will deliver customers requirements from opportunity to project delivery.

The role includes the management of project maintenance and documentation, team management and driving continuous improvement within the business.


Key responsibilities:


  • Managing the operational processes of the company from initial enquiry to design, production and installation including statements of work.
  • Responsible for overseeing the management and delivery of internal projects such as equipment upgrades and technical research and development, in keeping with HSE regulations.
  • Supporting the Sales teams to achieve growth and hit sales targets by ensuring internal operational performance and strategy supports sales and business development goals.
  • Working with the Sales Director to implement the strategic sales plan that expands company's customer base and ensures its strong presence.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing organizational technical processes from start to finish.
  • Responsibility for the supply chain and distributor matrix including contract and pricing reviews.
  • Maintaining the technical goals of the company and addressing any future potential needs through robust financial and operational planning.
  • Making sure that all staff are working strictly within the technical guidelines of project management and operational governance
  • Overseeing quality control and management systems and ensuring all projects outgoing are quality control checked and accurate to the order.
  • Ensuring orders are built to specifications and can be successfully assembled on site.
  • MI reporting and budget coordination to include vendor management

Experience/qualifications required:


  • Highly experienced and knowledgeable of technical operations with demonstrable track record of managing operations in the automotive, aerospace or aviation industry.
  • Experience gained working within a customerfocused engineering business.
  • A logical problem solver with good attention to detail and excellent communication skill
  • Significant experience of managing budget, and fiscal reporting for technical teams
  • Experience of managing third party suppliers to deliver major contracts and services
  • Strong business knowledge to understand the relevant business objectives and issues
  • Good client handling skills, builds rapport quickly with clients to establish longterm relationships coupled with excellent communication skills
  • Experience of AutoCAD or Solidworks and the ability to read engineering drawings

Salary:
£70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
