Due to an increase in marine design work at Expleo Group we have an immediate requirement for an experienced Senior Structures Engineer to join our project team on both permanent and contract basis (Outside of IR35).


Responsibilities:

Head of Detail Design

  • Leadership responsibility for the strategy, plans, people, tools, processes and management within the Engineering Function
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff in the discipline
  • Support the delivery of BAE Systems Naval Ships projects, the production of bids, advice on key technical activities and provide a route to solve problems
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Detail Design in both Design and LCM reviews
  • Provide cross company management, coordination and deployment of resource
  • Provide Governance and oversight of all Detail Design activities in support of the Head of Engineering Governance

Qualifications:

  • Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation.

Experience:


  • Excellent practitioner, by experience and expertise, in Detail Design
  • Experience of leading a Detail Design Strategy and operational programmes in line with the overarching business and engineering strategy
  • Experience in this, or a closely associated, engineering discipline in a senior role that has demonstrated relevant domain knowledge and leadership skills
  • Experience in the design, build, integration and support of ships
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding, Operations processes and modern build strategies
  • Experienced in Life Cycle Management reviews of bids and programmes
