The Finance function is undergoing a large-scale transformation to become a leading practice function with highly scaleable, efficient processes, high standards of control and promoting improvements to performance management.
You will deliver accurate and timely processing of AP/AR transactions, excellent service to internal and external customers and to assist in the provision of financial information to the reporting team.
How will I spend my time in this role?
- Processing cash receipts in the billing system, including allocations to outstanding invoices as per remittance advice;
- Run and review retail customers unallocated cash transaction report (daily);
- Manage queries with debt team/customer services team regarding cash allocation on customer accounts;
- Review and approvals as required for AP/AR related activities (e.g. bank account detail change validation, master data setup approval, etc);
- Daily Directdebit collections;
- Settingup Direct Debit Mandates;
- Performing of daily/monthly bank reconciliations for retail bank accounts;
- Processing refunds to the customers;
- Processing bad debt writeoff;
- Processing, raising, settling and reconciling purchase invoices for retail business;
- Processing daily and weekly payments (BACS & CHAPS);
- Point of contact for internal and external queries, ensuring queries are handled efficiently, whilst maintaining relationships and providing excellent customer services;
- General admin duties;
- Adhoc tasks as directed by line manager;
- To provide the cover for other AP/AR team members and their responsibilities as directed by line manager.
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- AAT diploma holder or studying towards AAT qualification;
- Broad bookkeeping experience;
- Double entry rules and financial reporting experience;
- Some experience of working in a strong controls environment;
- Proficient with Excel.
