About the role

We are an independent elective orthopaedic hospital, with the ambition to deliver over 5000 procedures in the coming year.

As a Consultant Anaesthetist at Clifton Park Hospital, you will work closely with the existing team to provide a comprehensive anaesthetic service, involving inpatient and day case surgery and supporting pre-operative assessment.

With a strong focus on enhanced recovery, you will work collaboratively with other clinical teams along the pathway to manage patient's pain relief and enable early mobilisation.

About You


We are looking for an individual with an unfaltering dedication to quality and who is determined to provide the best possible care for our patients, aligning with the Ramsay Healthcare's motto 'People Caring for People'.


With a current registration with the GMC's specialist register of anaesthetists, you will have several years' experience, at least 2 of which are within the UK, and be committed to your own continuing medical education and professional development.

We will support you to ensure ongoing medical competence through participation in the annual revalidation and reaccreditation schemes of the GMC and the Royal College of Anaesthetists, alongside providing mandatory training through our excellent in-house education programme.


You will be well versed and involved in clinical governance, audit and be a good team player who is ready to be flexible and willing to meet the needs of the service and colleagues.

Quality improvement is an important factor and we welcome innovation and enthusiasm in developing a high-quality service for our patients.

At Clifton Park Hospital we pride ourselves in striving for excellence and innovation and are developing day-case major arthroplasty pathways with adherence to GIRFT ideals.

The position is for 40 hours a week, including time for CPD. Part time position would also be considered

You will need to be

  • Registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register
  • UK experience at a Consultant Anaesthetist level
