Estate Grounds Worker/Gardener

40 hours per week 8 am-5 pm (with 1-hour unpaid lunch)

£23.3K per annum


We are a charity that manages Whiteley Village retirement community, founded over a hundred years ago in Walton on Thames, Surrey, and the Village located in 225 acres of beautiful grounds and is a very special place to live and work.

We are now looking for an Estate Grounds Worker/Gardener to join the team.


About the role


As a part of a small Estates Team, you will carry out landscape maintenance of the Whiteley Village Estate, providing a safe and enjoyable landscaped environment for all our Residents, Staff and general public to enjoy.


In your role you will assist in cutting and maintaining all grass areas, maintaining all flower/shrub beds and garden projects and assist in all forestry and woodland work where necessary.


About you
We are looking for a proactive team player with experience in gardening, grounds, and woodland maintenance.

You will have experience in the work of the Estate equipment such a ride on mowers, tractors, chainsaws, strimming and woodchippers.


Excellent customer service and communication skills are required and knowledge of IT systems as your work tasks will be assigned from a digital helpdesk to a PDA.
