    Job Description:

    Ambitious Quantity Surveyor Wanted in Manchester

    We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our innovative Infrastructure team in Manchester.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to progress rapidly and be rewarded for their hard work in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish client requirements and undertake initial cost planning exercises.
    • Carry out cost planning and value engineering to RIBA design stages, providing informed client cost advice.
    • Develop an understanding of procurement strategies and identify risks to projects.
    • Prepare tender and contract documents, including BOQs for senior staff review.
    • Conduct tender appraisals and recommend the best option for the client.
    • Monitor and record project costs.
    • Value completed works and arrange payments in accordance with the contract.
    • Draft project or claim reports under senior staff supervision.
    • Issue notices in accordance with the contract in case of claims.
    • Liaise with project or client team members and communicate effectively.
    • Maintain detailed variation and risk register information.
    • Prepare draft final accounts.

    Requirements:

    • Confidently attend and contribute to project meetings.
    • Familiarity with CVR process and ADR methods.
    • Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and principles.
    • Numerate and detail-oriented.
    • Reliable, trustworthy, and presentable.
    • Good IT skills and effective communication.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
