Your Role


In your role as a Financial Planner, you'll support the Senior Financial Planners with the on-going relationship with Court of Protection (CoP) and Personal Injury (PI) clients, whilst seeking out opportunities for growth.

We ensure our clients are looked after throughout our relationships and your responsibility will be to maintain this, with the opportunity to develop your own practice.

The client relationships include both internal IM colleagues in the CoP and PI departments and external clients.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Day to day management and delivery of financial planning and client services to COP & PI clients in your client bank
  • Formulate and produce financial strategies and detail them in financial reports that are clear to clients
  • Ensure a high retention rate; meeting all clients at least once a year and financial advice is reviewed and amended when required.
  • Maintain a level of professionalism that is appropriate for the senior customer facing function of the business to ensure confidence in the business from clients and referrers
  • Provide input into projects to develop existing services and products
  • Opportunity to lead on new business cases with a value of up to £1.0m
  • Support in business development; helping build a pipeline of opportunities through the network of opportunities that exist through the Irwin Mitchell network, managing relationships with internal referrers in their location to ensure lead flow and lead successful tenders

What We're Looking For

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and/or a track record of delivering within a Financial Planning environment
  • Proven track record of strong client relationship and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and develop business opportunities
  • Proven track record of strong business development and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of personal injury market and how these effects the financial advice provided to claimants.
