Job Purpose:


Within IT & Digital (IT&D) Strategy and Results Management (SRM) office the Head of IT&D Performance & Workforce Strategy lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic agenda as it relates to performance, employee engagements, organization and people change management and workforce strategy.


The role requires an outstanding leader, clear communicator, and progressive thinker to assume responsibility for developing, implementing, and executing new/enhanced business processes and solutions to ensure the IT&D runs efficiently.

In addition, this role will provide a wide variety of strategic support functions, including executive communications and special projects, budget management and objective setting.

Your exceptional leadership and managerial abilities will enable you to oversee multiple projects/priorities, cultivate a culture of excellence, build a best-in-class employee engagement strategy, and foster a collaborative environment.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Strategy: Collaborate with the SRM and Strategy team to monitor objectives, key results, and provide guidance to leadership to ensure the team is meeting objectives.

Budget Management:
Assists the Head of SRM in establishing and leading the planning and oversight of SRM projects and budgets.

This also includes, in coordination with finance, tracking, monitoring, and reporting against the SRM budget to resolve any variance against targets.


  • Performance and Planning: Provide oversight and direction to the Performance and Planning community across IT&D.
  • Advisory Partner: Function as a trusted advisor to the Head of SRM and Global CIDO, offering insights, datadriven analysis, and executive briefings to support decisionmaking processes.
  • Engagement and Communications: Develop and execute communication and "marketing" strategies to keep internal and external stakeholders informed about IT&D and SRM initiatives and achievements. Create a bestinclass communication and social media strategy that reflects IT&D key role in the future of energy transformation internally and externally.

Workforce Strategy:
Relentlessly identify opportunities to improve Organization and People change management across IT&D. Serve as liaison for OCM with the Transformation Office and the community of practice across National Grid. Partner with IT&D Leaders and HR to identify a holistic workforce strategy across IT&D.


Knowledge & Experience Required:


  • Experience and expertise in successful organization and people change management, planning and budgetary monitoring and control.
  • Demonstrated success in driving transformation including communication, planning for, and tracking adoption across an organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience in managing and executing largescale IT projects and initiatives.
  • A visionary leader who can inspire and motivate crossfunctional teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Indepth knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and compliance standards.
  • Experience in communication strategies, public relations, and social media management is highly desirable. Exceptional presentation development skills, with the ability to create visually appealing and impactful presentations.

What you'll get:

A competitive salary between £70,000 - £90,000 - dependent on capability.
