Operator

This role will work on an alternating weekly shift pattern consisting of Permanent Nightshift Tuesday to Thursday, Friday night hours per week)

Broad Purpose of Job

Running a line or work area, responsible for correct completion of all relevant paperwork, collection and removal of pallets, preparation materials, basic problem solving

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working under limited supervision to package the entire range of Bard's Commercial pharmaceutical products, following GMP standards and procedures
  • Assist in basic set up of filling lines when required
  • To participate in all 5s, GEMBA and process improvement activities
  • Removal of pallets/Transfer of Materials
  • Preparation of materials
  • Basic problem solving
Performance

  • To be flexible in the operating of all lines within the department when required, often covering multiple different work areas in a single shift
  • To be aware of daily targets and to perform online tasks accordingly. Always acting in a manner that guarantees maximum OEE whilst maintaining quality standards
  • To work in a safe manner with due regard to one's own safety and that of others. At all times abide with the companies' health and safety policies and procedures
  • To fill and pack the company product range into a variety of containers either manually or by using a full range of automated and semiautomated packaging equipment
  • To inspect tablets, capsules and other pharmaceutical products for defects
  • To complete all documentation promptly and accurately to meet the requirements of documentary evidence for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (GMP) and to carry out inprocess checks and batch reconciliations
  • To maintain housekeeping standards during all packaging procedures
  • Complete effective line/batch cleaning and clearance including the completion of required documentation.
  • To calibrate associated equipment as per written procedures and to record results
  • To carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the department line management
  • To undertake specific projects as and when required within the scope of the job holder's capabilities and responsibilities
  • Delivering and supporting training as required and appropriate to level
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

  • Advanced knowledge of the prerequisite quality requirements and documentation.
  • To understand and comply to the security responsibilities of the operation.
  • To ensure work areas and machinery is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition.

To carry out any other reasonable task as requested to ensure that the production operation is maintained.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 4 GCSE's of grade C or above in Maths & English.
  • Clear and legible handwriting.
  • A good standard of personal hygiene.
  • Good practical aptitude with good hand and eye coordination along with good dexterity skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of GMP principles
