Position Summary
The Director of Retail Sales is responsible for building the company's presence with upscale, small market retailers.

This person will lead a team of Regional Retail Sales Managers in identifying marketplace opportunities, developing customer relationships, and expanding market share.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define, oversee, and leverage the delivery of a strategic roadmap for retail operations, market penetration, and maintenance.
  • Plan retail initiatives related to the delivery of exceptional products to an increasingly diverse client base.
  • Conduct ongoing sales and productivity analyses and forecasts and initiate appropriate action to achieve strategic and financial goals.
  • Position retail operations to excel in digital commerce by developing and implementing progressive strategies that permeate all critical product delivery channels and operations.
  • Lead, manage, and direct Sales Managers and supporting staff.
  • Achieve financial performance objectives through ongoing monitoring of key metrics and report on performance levels to executive leadership.
  • Commit to individual professional growth and development and support the advancement of professional growth and development of all sales team members.
  • Develop and manage retail sales budget with continued focus on efficiencies.
  • Partner with stakeholders, work collaboratively with the executive leadership team, and model the company's strategic vision, mission, and priorities to promote superior quality products and service throughout the client base.

Qualifications

  • Ability to navigate the nuances of a large organization with multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Team player who operates well in a dynamic, all handson deck environment
  • Well organized, ability to manage multiple direct reports and tasks on tight deadlines with great attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving, prioritysetting and decisionmaking skills
  • Positive, resourceful, and flexible
  • Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and communicate effectively with a variety of people at all levels and cultures.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, interpersonal, and active listening communications skills
  • Strong, reasoned idea generator, ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Exceptional analytical judgment and financial management skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, accounting, information technology, or relevant field
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success with large, complex, multisite retail management
  • Long history of beef sales with small market, upscale, independent retailers.
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States
