We have an exciting opportunity for a
Catering Assistant to join our amazing Scout Adventure team based in Gilwell Park, Chingford.


Onsite live in accommodation is available.

Salary:
£19,760 per annum


Contract Type:
Permanent


Working Hours: 40 hours per week

The Catering Assistant:


Scout Adventure exists to provide adventure to young people and has a great team that work together to make it all happen.

This job will be as close to the front line as you can get, ensuring that the young people that come and stay with us have a great time.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about producing great wholesome food for our visitors and team.


This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills on various levels, From catering to school groups, to Scout groups, from small groups.

You will be given full kitchen training, an opportunity to develop and grow in the role and to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.


Key responsibilities as our Catering Assistant:

  • Assisting senior kitchen team members with providing good quality balanced meals for guests during their stay
  • Keeping our kitchen operation in line with food hygiene and health and safety standards at all times
  • Assisting with stock control systems and stock rotation
  • Contribute to the development of the centre; both towards supporting the volunteer and other staff teams, as well as the wider development of the centre
  • Other tasks as required to ensure that every visitor has a safe and memorable experience

What we are looking for in our Catering Assistant:

  • Hold a suitable food hygiene qualification (e.g. Level 2 Food Hygiene) -preferable, but not essential
  • Able to take instructions and be able to follow through on tasks
  • Ability to build effective relationships with visitors, volunteers and staff
  • Skilled collaborator, with the ability to use the skills of those around you to deliver best overall product
  • Competent IT user
