Primary Purpose:

reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will manage their own categories, help to develop procurement strategies that align with business aims & objectives.

Support with other categories as required. The Buyer will work closely with the Assistant Buyer with NPD sourcing and help to resolve queries.


Key responsibilities for the role (but not limited to):

• Negotiation with quality driven companies within the manufacturing industry
• Ability to develop and understand strategic purchasing strategy, engage and execute alignment
• Developing commercial relationships, become conscious of sensible commercial attributes for the business, while still realizing ability to maintain commercial advantage
• Maintain, monitor and establish supplier contracts
• Internal and external Stakeholder management
• Understanding of risk management within the procurement category and where risk can be managed accordingly without detriment to the business or customer
• Knowledge of markets seasonality and their impact to supply, demand and risk
• Identify cost out opportunities
• Understand T&Cs with ability to implement and negotiate amends
• Invoice query and resolution
• NPD sourcing
• System & costing updates
• Involvement in various projects.

Experience:

• 2 Years minimum Buying experience ideally in a food manufacturing environment
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
• Team player with the ability to selfmanage
• Ability to work flexibly due to possible nights away and EU travel

£40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
