As a Hotel Services, you will become an active member of our team working closely with other disciplines.

You will line manage Domestic staff.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member, who is keen to learn and to develop themselves.

Previous experience and knowledge of working within a domestic environment a is desirable.


We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and wants to make a difference to our patients' experience and who demonstrate values and personal qualities that support the DCHS way of working.

The IFM Supervisor will assist with the day to day organisation of the domestic services.

Their role is to supervise the IFM staff at the Hartington Unit and work in a 'hands on' role as required within the department.

The Hotel Services Supervisor will assist with the day to day organisation of the domestic and portering services.

Their role is to supervise the Hotel Services staff across the Chesterfield Locality and Hartington Unit and work in a 'hands on' role as required within the department.


The post holder will be primarily based at Hartington Unit but will be expected to work across other areas as required, to ensure continuity of service.

30 hours per week, on rota 7.5 hours shifts between the hours 7.00am -3.00pm and pm. (including half an hour unpaid break )

The Purpose and Activities of DCHS?


Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.


We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.


During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

  • Day to day supervision of staff
  • Dealing with 'on the spot' queries 1stpoint of contact for the service
  • Completion of rotas and allocation of staff to ensure adequate cover across service
  • Completion of salary returns
  • Ensure that the duties undertaken by the staff are in accordance with agreed methods of work/Standard Operating Procedures
  • Organisation of furniture moves and ad hoc requests involving the completion of the relevant risk assessment.
  • Ensuring the removal and disposal of all categories of waste and linen in line with the current legislation
  • Providing cover for other Hotel Services supervisors. Driving within the locality and the wider DCHS area
  • Arranging and scheduling the maintenance and servicing of lease vehicles and electric tugs
  • Ensuring the timely transportation and delivery of goods, supplies and medical records.
  • Monitoring of stocks and ordering of supplies of medical gases
  • Ensuring that Hotel Services staff are appropriately dressed as per Trust's Uniform Policy
  • Assist the Lead for Hotel Services with all aspect of staff appraisal, induction and training.
  • Completion of maintenance request forms as appropriate and monitoring progress of works
  • Participating in staff interview panels as and when required
  • Covering of any absences by reorganisation and/or reallocation of work to ensure service quality and continuity of service within the allocated pay budget
  • Ensure all staff are aware of and follow appropriate and applicable Trust Policies and Procedures
  • Ensuring appropriate information is communicated in a timely and robust manner to all staff via scheduled team meetings
  • Managing and updating of appropriate records including inhouse computerised systems and local management information systems for both staff and service information
  • Undertaking inhouse audit systems as per required frequency and ensuring any shortfalls are addressed and documented
  • Stock Control including ordering of, issuing and control of supplies within the designated areas of responsibility
  • Monitor contracts e.g. window cleaning, pest control as instructed by the Locality Lead for Hotel Services
  • Cocoordinating and assisting in floor maintenance and curtain changing duties
  • Ability to work times /shifts within department to maintain service across domestic and portering role.
  • Any other duties applicable to the role and determined by the Locality lead
