NHS Ayrshire & Arran are looking for a Programme Lead to shape, lead and coordinate the implementation of the phased rollout of Improving the Cancer Journey (ICJ) service across all partnerships within NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

The post holder will lead the planning and implementation of the Improving the Cancer Journey (ICJ) service across the 3 HSCP's.

They will be responsible for the management of the HSCP's individual project, as well as take on specific Pan-Ayrshire responsibilities for workstreams such as user involvement which cut across all HSCP areas.

This will support the overall delivery of the Pan-Ayrshire Improving the Cancer Journey (ICJ) Programme


You will be an individual who is used to working autonomously, but develops good relationships with others, and is able to work to tight deadlines.

You will need to be comfortable with data analysis and dealing with complex problems.

You will have excellent organisational and programme management skills, established improvement skills and strong interpersonal skills to coordinate the work of the many individuals and teams involved in the Improving Cancer Journey (ICJ) work.


Reporting to the Portfolio Programme Manager - Primary Care Services, you will require to work closely with colleagues across the NHS landscape both locally and nationally and will work closely with colleagues in Primary Care, NHS Scotland, Voluntary and health and social care associated organisations and Local Authorities.

You should have a Master's Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience in a relevant discipline or area.

Driving licence and access to a car is essential for the role.


Hours: 37.5 per week, over 5 days

Fixed term/secondment opportunity (secondment must be agreed with current manager)
