Full-time, 35 hours per week

Fixed-Term, 1 year in first instance with possibility of extension.

The Opportunity:


The focus of the lab is understanding the roles of astrocytes on the blood-brain barrier under physiological and pathological conditions.

We are set to identify astrocyte - brain endothelial cell communication mechanisms that are important for proper blood-brain barrier function and relevant to cognitive decline.

Human tissue, mice, and a wide variety of techniques, e.g.

gene editing, proteomics, transcriptomics, in vivo and ex vivo imaging, and electrophysiology, will be used to tackle our research questions.


The purpose of the post holder will be to contribute to the development of this programme by sharing ideas, performing high quality original research, and producing material for publication and dissemination.**
