X2 afternoon shifts, 10 hours support needed pw


Job description:


Priority Recruitment is excited to present this opportunity for a Support Worker in the Blackburn area, supporting a gentleman in his family home.

Our client is new to receiving the support of a Health Care Assistant so we are looking to slowly introduce this by having a fun and encouraging Support Worker to spend a couple of short shifts with our client per week, as time goes we intend to increase the hours offered.


  • Supporting a young man who has ABI, Chrons Disease and Epilepsy
  • Helping the client become more active and integrate into the community
  • Being mindful of periods of fatigue and dietary requirements
  • Joining in with his hobbies which include gaming and watching his favourite shows
  • Accompanying the client to appointments, errands and scenic outdoor walks
  • Supporting with his mobility and assisting a wheelchair user
  • Some personal care required
  • Keeping the client engaged by being a fun and warm support worker

Note:
All needs will vary daily, and the personal assistant's duties and tasks will fluctuate accordingly.

The Successful applicant must:


  • Ideally a driver but not essential to the role
  • Have previous HCA experience, complex care experience is not needed
  • Be happy to support the client in the community
  • Be a flexible member of staff and happy initially working par time
  • Be a fun and compassionate member of staff
