As the PCN Service Lead, you will review current rotas and processes and identify how these can be streamlined and improved.

Ensure the workforce is correctly scheduled, initiating any necessary action in order to maintain service requirements.

This job involves working with and supporting other PCN Practice and Business Managers ensuring adequate clinical cover is provided at all times.

The post holder is expected to work accurately and under pressure with the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload and that of the department and anticipate and resolve problems expediently.


Main duties of the job As Service Lead you will compile and disseminate rotas for the clinical and non-clinical staff and act as a single point of contact.

Ensure staff comply with all company policies, procedures and guidelines. You will ensure that the service is staffed appropriately.

Co-ordinate rota changes at all levels to ensure mínimal impact on care and be the first point of contact for all day-to-day issues affecting staff cover.

You will be required to manage your own workload, use own initiative, communicate effectively, escalating issues as appropriate. Support the rollout of new initiatives/changes and cascade key information and deal with any complex enquiries, escalating where necessary.

About us Bradford City Primary Care Network 4 (PCN4) is a network of Bradford City Practices working collaboratively across the network area to look after the health of our local population.

The PCN which comprises of 5 local Practices with a total population of around 44,000 registered patients.

Job description Job responsibilities Day to day operational responsibility for the maintenance and management of rotas.

Working in partnership with Managers, Clinicians and Administrative staff to deliver key targets and ensure a safe, effective and efficient service is maintained.

To produce regular reports (as required) on specialty compliance with systems and procedures. Comply with audit recommendations and risk assessment recommendations to make the workplace and work practice safer.

Continually assess and evaluate systems recommending changes and improvements. Support the team in relation to the recruitment and induction of staff as required.

Where locum coverage is required co-ordinate, the locum booking process ensuring that identified parties are contacted in a timely manner.

Check all locum agency time sheets to ensure agreed rates and hours are charged and any discrepancies referred to the relevant personnel.


The post holder will be required to undertake mandatory training and is responsible for keeping staff training records up to date.

Work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations at all time The post holder will be required to work at any location where the PCN provides services.

Be aware of and abide by all information governance requirements in respect of data protection and confidentiality. Person SpecificationSkills and CompetenciesEssential Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise and effective way.

IT Skills expert user of Microsoft Excel & Word. System One user Self-motivated, highly organised, focussed and results orientated. Ability to analyse data, identify and implement resolution where required (problem solve). Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Work own initiative with demanding workloads and prioritise tasks. Ability to cope with high levels of pressure.

Ability to demonstrate emotional resilience and intelligence in the face of conflict, in complex situations and when dealing with competing priorities.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships.
