Senior Residential Support worker / Team Leader AM / TL in Residential Childcare with commitment to ensuring a high standard of care for young people and with ambition to progress within a small company.

Main Purpose of the Job:


  • To work alongside the Registered Manager to manage the service's existing workforce and resources, as well as to promote and safeguard the welfare of the young people in our care.
  • To assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
  • To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • To support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people.
  • To undertake direct work with Children and young people as appropriate.
  • To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints.
  • To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people
  • To ensure that resources are allocated appropriately and financial records are accurately maintained

Person Specification:


  • Experience as a residential childcare worker
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Residential Experience
  • Team Building and Supervision Skills
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Understanding the needs of young people who have experienced trauma including managing challenging behaviours
  • Good organisational skills

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
£12.50-£15.50 per hour

  • Ilford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Residential Childcare Worker: 1 year (preferred)
Team Leading: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • DBS (required)
- level 3 in Health and Social Care (preferred)
