Perfect Vehicle Preparation are looking for a Level 1 Mechanic/Tyre Fitter to join our team based in Chipping Warden, Northamptonshire on a full-time, permanent basis.

The working hours are 45 hours per week offering an hourly rate of £12.50.


We provide first class vehicle preparation services and are a progressive, emerging company focused on building a thriving team of employees who truly make a difference to our customers and partners.


This role will be a key part of the vehicle preparation process and will work to a defined customer standard with the skills required to fulfil all aspects of the role.

You must hold a Level 1 Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent (NVQ or similar) qualification.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Identifying mechanical faults in brakes, engine (knocks, whines etc.), gears, electrics, suspension problems etc.
  • Testing vehicles utilising equipment and recognised test procedures and techniques.
  • To fit any tyres in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Removing and refitting a selection of tyres to a variety of client vehicles.
  • Recording defects and/or symptoms of impending failure.
  • Ensuring all relevant system / paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
  • Understands the needs of both customers and the company and demonstrates this in their work.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Able to work as a team, and support and assist colleagues.
  • You may be required to undertake other duties to meet business requirements and settings, including working alongside other departments.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety instructions and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others who may be working or entering the work area and report all hazards to your line manager.
