Grade UE04 - £23,144 - £25,138 per annum (pro rata). (A revised salary range for this grade of £24,533 - £27,181 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024).

College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences/College Office

Open-ended (Permanent)

Part-time (17.5 Hours per week)


We are looking for an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist to provide a range of administrative duties as well as a corporate standard, customer-focussed, professional, efficient and welcoming reception service to all visitors, including senior members of staff and students.


The Opportunity:

The role is a front-facing role on behalf of the entire College Office.

The role will be part of a Reception team of three and it is essential that the team works together harmoniously in order to provide the required level of service.

This post is part-time (17.5 hours per week) and the working pattern will be 1.30pm to 5pm Wednesdays, 9am to 5pm Thursdays and Fridays.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Excellent customer Service experience to include outgoing personality, competent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional, friendly, helpful and approachable manner, tact and diplomacy
  • An interest in people, empathy and a willingness to become involved, awareness of cultural issues
  • Good understanding of what it means to provide an excellent customer service
  • Flexible approach to deal with a variety of requests from staff and students Ability to plan and prioritise, work independently and also as part of a team
