Lead Power Electronics Development Engineer:

Our client is one of the UKs leading Automotive Engineering companies and they are looking for an experienced Lead Power Electronics Development Engineer to join their growing team.
As part of the engineering management team within a matrix structure you and your team will support projects and activities across R&D, New Product Development, Business Development, and service support.
Key Activities for the role include:
- Provide detailed input to the design and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure the product meets all the requirements and make recommendations for product design changes.
- Create and maintain Design Verification Plans for new products.
- Create internal test procedures and external test requests at the system, subsystem and component levels.
- Analyse test data and create test reports.
- Support product compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Track and solve technical issues and work with the design team to implement corrective actions.
- Assess motor performance and correlate to simulation results.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure products work as a whole.
- Review and define requirements for new products.
Skills required
- Good theoretical knowledge of power electronics, electrical machines and drives, combined with high attention to detail and a flair for lateral thinking.
- Comfortable stepping outside your core area of expertise and supporting all areas of the product. have a degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or similar disciplines complimented by industrial experience and possibly professional accreditation
- Experience of working within automotive, commercial or rail sectors particularly within powertrain systems is advantageous.
