Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Critical Care Medicine and Acute Medicine, to be based at King's Mill Hospital.

The 15 bed Critical Care unit admits a mixture of medical and surgical level 2/3 patients in an acute 550 bed hospital located in the Midlands.

We promote a flexible approach to job planning with a focus on colleagues' wellbeing.

The aim of this post is to support delivery of a 24/7 Critical Care service and busy Acute Medicine service; this primarily involves daytime direct clinical care (4.0 PA) and taking part in a 1 in 10 Consultant on-call rota with prospective cover (1.0 PA) in Critical Care and direct clinical care in Acute Medicine (3.5 PA).

There is allowance for supporting professional activities (minimum 1.5 PA) and opportunity undertake additional roles.

Your main role will be to lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) handovers, ward rounds and MDT meetings for patients. This will involve supervision, management and teaching of junior members of the team.

You will ensure adherence to highest standards of care, good compliance with clinical governance process and facilitate continual learning and improvement.

You will join a supportive and friendly MDT that values good team-working and safe, efficient and compassionate patient care.

You will join the Department of Anaesthesia, with doctors in the team comprising of Specialty Trainees from the East Midlands School of Anaesthesia, Specialty Doctors, Clinical Fellows and Foundation Doctors.
