The Role:
Land Identification:
- Carrying out market research and analysis, keeping up to date on market forces to aid the decisionmaking land acquisition process
- Keeping a record and log of sites on the acquisition tracker along with progress
- Supporting with fostering good and lasting professional relationships with landowners (including national house builders), development agents, local authorities, and consultants
- Ensuring the team is fully informed on development opportunities and alternative appraisals.
Land Appraisals:
- Assisting with undertaking feasibility reports and produce development appraisals (Argus software & excel models)
- Helping to appoint and liaise with architects, and other consultants etc to produce feasibility layouts, and other documentation required for bidding for land opportunities
- Supporting the development team and architects to deliver optimum layout by carrying out detailed land appraisals.
Land Acquisition:
- Helping negotiate cost effective land acquisition deals with vendors and land agents, ensuring deals are within agreed budgeted and forecast requirements
- Ensuring all appropriate cost allowances are included within development appraisals
- Assisting with preparing comprehensive land reports, proposals for purchase and handover reports in accordance with the Development Control Plan.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Land Assistant, Land Graduate or working within a land team
- IT literate and conversant with land appraisal techniques and models
- Articulate and able to produce land reports and land acquisition packs
- Educated to degree level in surveying, planning, civil engineering, or related field.
