Home-Start North Somerset provides support and friendship for families with young children who are going through tough times. We currently have two exciting opportunities to join our small team, to help us provide our home-visiting service. This service matches trained volunteers to families to provide practical and emotional support. Both roles are based at our Weston-super-Mare office with travel throughout North Somerset.


Volunteer Coordinator - Family Support

Best Start Worker - Perinatal Support

Both roles:
24 hours per week

LGA Scale 8, starting salary £24,702, 24 hours pro rata


Contract:
Permanent

The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with our team of volunteers, providing support, supervision and delivering training to ensure they are able to offer effective support to families.

They will build strong relationships with our families, working with them to identify their needs, match them to a volunteer and review progress.

They will liaise with professionals from other services to ensure a coordinated response.

The Best Start Worker will work with the Coordinator to deliver our home-visiting service, but will work one-to-one with families in the perinatal period as required.

They will have experience of working with families in the perinatal period and knowledge of antenatal support.

Essential requirements for both roles include:

• Experience of working with young children and families
• Experience of working with and training volunteers
• Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues.
