Permanent - 37 hours per week (Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm with 1/2 unpaid for lunch & 8am - 3.30pm on a Friday with 1/2 unpaid for lunch) Term time only (including 5 Training days
We are looking to recruit an outstanding and committed professional Attendance Officer to join our Pastoral Office support team.

This is a full time, term time only post, which would suit someone who is passionate about helping young people to be ambitious and achieve.

Our Attendance Officer is a key member of our Pastoral Office support team.

The role involves collecting, recording, monitoring and reporting data on attendance and punctuality, and supporting our pastoral work to improve and maintain these in support of students so that they achieve the very best outcomes from their time at school.


Overall Responsibilities:

To monitor and report on whole-school attendance data, analysing data to identify key areas of concern.

To work closely with pupils, staff, parents and carers to reduce levels of absence and act appropriately when persistent absence becomes a safeguarding issue.


Follow up on any unexplained absences with parents/carers, escalating issues as appropriate in line with school procedures initiate and oversee the administration of absence procedures, for example letters home, attendance clinics and engagement with local authorities/other external agencies and partners.

To manage any safeguarding issues regarding attendance alongside the Pastoral/team/Designated Safeguarding Lead.

The successful applicant will be flexible, hardworking and willing to go the extra mile. We are looking for the successful applicant to start as soon as relevant checks have been completed.

£24,594.00-£26,279.00 per year
