STOURBRIDGE GOLF CLUB

BOOKKEEPER

Founded in 1892, Stourbridge GC is a beautiful 18 hole course in Worcestershire that is playable 12 months of the year with excellent drainage by being built on sand.

It is a par 70, 6151 yard course and has known to be the longest course over the smallest acreage of land.

It is a busy and friendly club with over 750 members.

A part time Bookkeeper position has now become available at Stourbridge Golf Club.

Working closely with the General Manager and Finance Director, the bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial control and records of the club accounts.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate and up to date financial records using Sage 50.
• Daily reconciliation of all transactions
• Maintaining club ledgers, accruals and prepayments
• Processing of accounts payable and receivable
• Assist in producing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, trial balance and cash flow statement
• Depositing cash and cheques at the local post office/bank branch
• Preparation and completion of VAT, PAYE and tax returns
• Processing of monthly payroll and pension submissions
• Chasing of outstanding debtors
• Full reconciliation of all control accounts each month
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting

Skills

• A thorough understanding of general accounting principles and practices with good knowledge and experience of using Sage 50, Microsoft Office and Excel.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Previous experience working in a golf club setting is desirable but not essential.

This is an office based position at Stourbridge Golf Club, Worcester Lane, Pedmore, Stourbridge, DY8 2RB, working 20 hours per week across Monday to Friday.

A competitive salary is available depending on skillset.
