Our client is a leading company, offering research services to the Drug Discovery sector. They collaborate with lead researchers and organisations to enhance the understanding of immunological, oncological, neurological and other disease areas.
Based onAlderley Park, they are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join their Discovery Sciences Team as a Postdoctoral Scientist for an exciting new project based around cancer biomarker diagnostics.

The Role
This is a role for individuals who have recently obtained a PhD in a diagnostic or molecular biology and oncology focused project.
As a PostdoctoralScientist, you will be responsible for:
- Support an external partner with the development of novel diagnostic technology, used to detect cancer through ctDNA biomarkers.
- Use a range of technologies including digital droplet PCR, hybridisation quantification and some immunoassay technologies.
- Developing new diagnostics and liquid biopsy assays, from scratch.
- Deliver high quality data within tight timeframes.
- Communicating with internal and external project partners to discuss results and future project direction. Part of this will involve giving presentations.
Skills and Experience Needed:
Suitable applicants will have:
- A PhD
- Focused around ctDNA, liquid biopsies or cancer molecular biology (essential)
- Proven molecular assay development experience i.e. ddPCR, hybridisation, DNA technology (essential) ideally within a diagnostic and liquid biopsy type setting (desired)
- A strong ability to problemsolve and take the lead on projects when needed. (essential)
- A proven background in using DNA and immunoassay technologies e.g. ELISA (essential)
- Experience and comfort in analysing and interpreting experimental data (essential)
- 12 years as a postdoc in University. (desired)
- Biophysical characterisation experience e.g. SPR (desired)
- Experience in working in multiorganisation projects (desired)
