JOB PURPOSE:

To motivate, manage and control the running of the Kolbus production equipment and ensure that all team members work together to achieve Key Performance Indicators
Achieve the required levels of performance and quality by the effective management of available resources.

A crew of - 6 employees


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Management and Development of Team
Lead, motivate and encourage the line team (where appropriate) on a daily basis.
Monitor the behaviour and performance of team members and highlight any concerns to the Team Leader.

Ensure that Line Clearance at the end of a job is carried out correctly and thoroughly to avoid the risk of any product contamination or mixing.

Check that all incoming materials to the line at the start of or during production are correct before using them.

Ensure that any material for returning to stores is correctly counted and labelled.
Allocate personnel to tasks and jobs to achieve the best possible line performance.
Ensure that all Quality documentation and timesheets are completed accurately and in a timely manner
Measure and record information for quality purposes as required.
Ensure that the line team are aware of performance expectations and focussed on achieving targets. Escalate to the Team Leader any concerns or problems in achieving this requirement.
Check and monitor the quality of the product produced on the line is to the required standards.
Manage line breaks to ensure that they comply with company requirements.

Ensure that the equipment start up is timely and that the end of shift wash ups are done thoroughly and correctly.

Lead by example and set high standards of performance, quality and behaviour
Communicate clear instructions and expectations to the line team.
Report any breakdowns to the Team Leader.

Ensure that housekeeping on and around the equipment is to a high standard and that all of your team are complying with Health & Safety requirements.

Ensure that SFDC data entry is accurately recorded.

Technical Expertise

Complete external and internal training programmes in order to be able to set up and run the equipment and demonstrate competency by regularly achieving targets.

Be able to change the equipment for different jobs in the required time and without additional support.
Be able to use the pallet wrapper as and when required.

Managing Relationships
Liaise with Production Team Leaders in the event of any barriers to achieving the required line performance and output.
Liaise with Production Team Leaders and Quality Dept. in the event of any product or material quality concerns. Retain all labels and material details for traceability purposes
Liaise with Production Team Leaders in the event of a breakdown or interruption to production.
Always work to the WestRock values and behaviours and expect the same from your team.

Driving Results
Monitor line performance and highlight any performance issues.
Maintain the KPI visual standard board so that it is up to date at all times
Escalate any issues or barriers to performance in a timely manner

Service Excellence
Keep Production Team Leaders up to date online performance.
Act as link between the Team Leader and employees on the line.
Adhere to company absence and timekeeping policies

Health and Safety
Ensue adhere to Company Health & Safety policies and procedures
Identify and rectify any situation or incident where H&S standards drop below expected standards.
Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and improved in line with the factory standard.
Ensure that all team members are complying with Workwear standards and PPE requirements.


QUALIFICATONS:


Educational and professional:

N/A
Ensure that all machines and equipment are maintained to proper standard as per the recommended service intervals. Report any issues and raise with Production Manager if schedules are being missed.
Be able to identify sub-standard product and isolate appropriately.
Understand PSA and be able to identify upcoming requirements in advance e.g. materials, job changes

Accurately document and record information on the Job Control Sheets, including scanning IR's, recording waste, and recording returns when required.

Complete off line timesheets for all hours that are not covered by Job Control Sheets
Be able to book in Finished Goods as an when required
Ensure that all maintenance programmes are completed as per schedule and requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
Demonstrable good leadership skills with the ability to lead a team and support individuals
Good communication and interpersonal and people management skills
Good understanding of processes and machines used within the production environment
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in the man
