As a Student Safety Assistant, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our learners, staff, visitors, and college premises.

Responsibilities:

In this dynamic role, you will embark on a variety of engaging duties:

Promote a Positive Environment:
_ Engage in regular patrolling of common areas, inspiring positive behavior and intervening when necessary. Your ability to uphold our college values will shape a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Safeguarding Support:
_ Collaborate with the Safeguarding team to manage incidents effectively.

You'll review CCTV footage, complete incident forms, and play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our college community.

Health, Safety, and Welfare:
_ Demonstrate your dedication to the safety and welfare of our college community.

This will involve controlling student behavior, preventing unauthorized access, identifying and reporting hazards, coordinating safe evacuations, and supporting policy implementation.

Exceptional Customer Service:
_ Provide outstanding customer service to staff, students, visitors, and customers. You'll assist with inquiries, offer guidance, support the enrollment process, and help manage student behavior in classrooms.

Visible Presence:
_ Patrol our beautiful college grounds and buildings to provide a reassuring presence. By safeguarding our assets from damage or theft, you will contribute to maintaining a secure environment for everyone.

Safety Protocols:

_ Conduct searches for prohibited items according to the college's search protocol, ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals.

Site Security:
_ Keep a watchful eye for unauthorized visitors and take appropriate action. Your vigilance will help maintain a safe environment while liaising with emergency services when necessary.

Driving and Parking Monitoring:
_ Monitor driving and parking on campus, addressing dangerous driving incidents and reporting illegal, dangerous, and inconsiderate parking. Your attention to detail will contribute to a safer environment for everyone.

Community Engagement:
_ Represent the college within the local community, fostering positive relationships with local residents. Your efforts will ensure that our students are respectful and considerate beyond the college boundaries.

Equality and Inclusion:
_ Contribute to the elimination of discrimination, harassment, and victimization within our college community. You'll advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations among individuals with different characteristics.

Safety Compliance:
_ Support the regular Fire Alarm testing process as instructed by Health and Safety guidelines. Your commitment to safety protocols will ensure the well-being of all individuals during emergencies.
