We are looking for an Administration Assistant to join our Portering Team. You will provide day to day administrative support to the Portering management team.

Primarily based at Royal Preston Hospital, you maybe be required to work at Chorley Hospital if need dictates. There is hospital transport available between the two sites.


We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and is thorough in accomplishing a task, no matter how small.

You will primarily be responsible for all the administrative duties such as Healthroster recording sickness, booking annual leave, preparing reports etc.


With excellent organisational skills, and a flexible approach, you will be able to demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.

Fundamental to this post is the ability to multi-task and effectively manage your workload working to tight deadlines.

You will be calm under pressure as this is a very busy and, at times, demanding environment.

Previous administrative experience in a healthcare setting would be an advantage but is certainly not essential.


You will possess excellent communication skills and be open and accessible to provide the required support to both managers and colleagues alike.

The duties and responsibilities listed in the Job Description should be undertaken in accordance with the levels of competence as defined in the KSF outline for this post.

In addition, all staff are expected to act in accordance with the values and behaviours of the Trust.


Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Communicate with a range of staff and service users utilising a variety of communication methods including verbal, electronic
  • Data Entry into online systems
  • Ensure up to date information is available to the team
  • Weekley reports
  • Payroll input
  • Preparation of patient information prior to procedure
  • General staff enquiry's


You will join a welcoming and motivated team all of whom do their very best to ensure an effective and efficient department is run smoothly.


Great office and IT skills will be essential in managing your workload to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
